Our Commitment
Kitchen Yard is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people of all abilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying relevant accessibility standards.
Standards
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, and neurological disabilities.
What We Do
- Semantic HTML: We use proper heading hierarchies, landmark regions, and semantic elements throughout the Platform.
- Keyboard navigation: All interactive elements are accessible via keyboard. Focus indicators are visible throughout the interface.
- Color contrast: Our color palette meets WCAG AA contrast requirements for text and interactive elements.
- Alt text: Images include descriptive alternative text. Decorative images are marked appropriately.
- Form labels: All form inputs have associated labels and error messages are clearly communicated.
- Responsive design: The Platform works on a wide range of screen sizes and supports browser zoom up to 200%.
- Dark mode: A dark color scheme is available for users who prefer or require reduced brightness.
- Screen reader support: We use ARIA attributes where needed to ensure screen reader compatibility.
Known Limitations
While we strive for full accessibility, some areas may not yet be fully optimized:
- Third-party embedded maps may have limited keyboard and screen reader support.
- Some operator-uploaded images may lack detailed alt text.
We are actively working to address these limitations.
