Child Safety Policy

Effective date: May 4, 2026

1. Our Commitment

Kitchen Yard is committed to the safety and protection of children. While our Platform is a food marketplace and does not host user-generated content like social media platforms, we take child safety seriously and have implemented the following policies.

2. Age Requirements

  • Account creation: You must be at least 18 years old to create a Kitchen Yard account, place orders, or register as an operator or driver.
  • Supervised use: Minors between 13 and 17 may browse the Platform under parental or guardian supervision but may not create accounts, place orders, or make purchases independently.
  • Under 13: Kitchen Yard is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 in compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

3. No Direct Contact with Minors

Kitchen Yard does not facilitate direct communication between operators/drivers and minors. All order communications, delivery instructions, and messages are between adult account holders.

4. Delivery Safety

Delivery drivers may not leave orders with unaccompanied minors. If no adult is present at the delivery location, the driver should contact the account holder by phone. If the account holder cannot be reached, the order will be returned to the operator.

5. Data Collection

We do not knowingly collect, store, or process personal information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided personal information, we will:

  • Immediately delete all personal information associated with that child.
  • Terminate the account.
  • Notify the parent or guardian if contact information is available.

6. Allergen Safety for Children

We recognize that food allergies are especially dangerous for children. Parents and guardians ordering on behalf of minors should:

  • Carefully review all allergen information listed on menu items.
  • Contact the operator directly if there are questions about ingredients.
  • Use the special instructions field to highlight severe allergies.
  • Acknowledge the allergen disclaimer during checkout.

7. Reporting Concerns

If you believe a child's safety or privacy has been compromised through our Platform, please contact us immediately:

We will investigate all reports promptly and take appropriate action, including account suspension and reporting to relevant authorities where required by law.

8. Operator and Driver Background

All operators must hold valid permits issued by their local health department, which include inspections of the food preparation environment. Driver invitations are managed by operators who are responsible for vetting their own delivery personnel.

9. Content Standards

Kitchen Yard does not allow any content that exploits, harms, or endangers children in any way. This includes but is not limited to operator listings, reviews, messages, and profile content. Violations will result in immediate account termination and reporting to law enforcement.

10. Updates to This Policy

We may update this policy as laws and best practices evolve. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification.
